ABOUT THE STORY

COUNTLESS EONS INTO THE FUTURE: In the wake of complete planetary collapse Gaiia (once known long ago as Earth) has been left an inhospitable wasteland devoid of life in complete totality. The task of restoring Her ruined body to it's former vitality falls to Her very last children, the Sporelings. Dutiful in their mission to bring back their Mother they face this seemingly impossible task with great dedication, but find that it may not be so straightforward. Remnants of Her previous children fester inside her flesh, poisoning her - and the Sporelings are faced with dangers that threaten everything they have created thus far. With threats new and unknown lurking around every corner they will need to adapt quickly to overcome these challenges or their planet will be doomed to eternal death once and for all.

Is there an update schedule?
How long is the comic going to be?

At this time I am focusing on completing Chapter 1. From there I have plans for more chapters exploring the world and furthering the storyline of Sporelings until we reach its conclusion, however long that will take. You can probably expect somewhere around 5 chapters. I plan to split chapters into parts of 10-20ish pages per release until completion. There is no update schedule, parts will be released as I finish them as I have to balance it's creation with other obligations.On occasion in between page drops I plan to update the website with character spotlights, information, supplementary comics, and other glimpses into the world of Sporelings. Check back on occasion, you may see something new!

Uhm, is there a point to having a whole website dedicated to this...?

YES!!! This website is the only place you will be able to read the story and find everything I'll make about Sporelings at this time. Special uploads, character information, exclusive drawings, etc etc, all of it will be going RIGHT HERE!

Are there content warnings needed for this story?

The circle of life can be cruel. You can expect graphic and non graphic depictions of violence, various degrees of bodily injury, and body horror. All within the confines of little cartoon plant creatures, of course.

Will there ever be a printed version?

SPORELING FACTS!

✦ Their species is genderless! They use they/them pronouns to refer to themselves and others. The only usage of pronouns in their language is reserved for their Mother (Gaiia) which they use She/Her pronouns for.
✦ Their spacesuit-like appearance is actually akin in function to an exoskeleton or very durable skin. It is part of their biology. They can't take it off!
✦ They emit a fragrant aroma most potent from the flowers on their head and hindquarters. Scents are similar to warm grass, floral aromas, fruity notes, and various other natural and pleasant fragrances.
